State Security approval: Citizens of the following countries need prior approval from the Egyptian State Security Authorities in addition to holding a visa: Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Mauritania, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Syria, and Yemen.
Canada Update:
Starting October 1, 2023, Canadian passport holders will not be able to obtain a visa online before traveling to or upon arrival in Egypt. You will be required to obtain a visa from an Egyptian embassy or consulate abroad.
Please note the visa situation for each nationality is subject to change without prior notice from the concerned authorities.Accordingly, each traveler must check the updated situation with the Egyptian embassy in his country.
As of 17 June 2022, Egypt has lifted all COVID-19 restrictions on travelers coming into the country.
All foreign visitors and Egyptian citizens will enter without the need to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test.
